In reference to the article, the QP kit already included a mechanical pre-treatment step, such as bead-beating; hence, there was no need to contrast the QP kit with and without an additional bead-beating step. The differences in microbial abundance between the no-bead-beating and bead-beating groups were not statistically determined in the QP kit, as LEfSe analysis was conducted solely on the relative abundance data from the TS and QS kits.
