Discuss Comparison of Co-housing and Littermate Methods for Microbiota Standardization in Mouse Models
From BugSigDB
Note 1
The family Clostridiaceae was listed twice for increased in abundance in the TAC group when compared to TAC-CH.
Mogibacteriaceae is currently called Anaerovoracaceae.
The S24-7 bacteria is Muribaculaceae.
Note 2
The reason I did not add any experiments for F2-Generation is:
- There were no differences in alpha diversity (data not shown) between groups, and family-level relative abundance was similar in both lineages.
- The study also stated that "In this proof-of-concept study, we have demonstrated that variation in microbiota is negligible in F2-generation littermate mice generated from two C57BL/6 (WT) parental lineages"
Additionally, all the data that show differential abundance remained unchanged for both F2 mJAX and F2 mTAC, therefore showing no variation among them.
