Discuss A Pilot Microbiota Study in Parkinson's Disease Patients versus Control Subjects, and Effects of FTY720 and FTY720-Mitoxy Therapies in Parkinsonian and Multiple System Atrophy Mouse Models

Documentation of my curation:

1. The study focused on studying Parkinson's disease patients vs control subjects, however, the study also focused on the effects of FTY720 and FTY720-Mitoxy Therapies in Parkinsonian and Multiple System Atrophy Mouse Models.

- This raised the question of if there is the possibility of having more than one study design targeted towards the study.

2. The only exclusion criteria required in the curation is for antibiotics, however, other exclusion criteria were used in the study;

• Parkinson’s disease patients with dementia, major GI disease or cancer, who smoked or used recreational drugs, had a medical device implanted near the GI tract, did an MRI during the time of the study, and who were pregnant were excluded from the study.
