Type 1 diabetes nephropathy

Diabetic nephropathy is a progressive kidney disease caused by angiopathy of capillaries in the kidney glomeruli. In type 1 diabetes hyperglycaemia starts in the first decades of life and is usually the only recognized cause of nephropathy.
